Head Coach: Jeff Morrison

Jeff has coached Thunderbird Aquatics Club Masters Swim Team since 2022 and previously from 2010 – 2012. He has a Level I Coaching certificate. He was the president of the TAC Youth, ran the computer for TAC swim meets and volunteered as a Stroke & Turn Referee. He competed on youth teams in both Chicago and California. Through high school he played basketball, surfed and in college competed in tennis. Jeff has been an enthusiastic USA Master’s competitor for a couple of decades.  As he has done for all sports he enjoys, he studies the science of improvement and is walking encyclopedia on professional, collegiate, and local competitors’ strokes and times.

Jeff has a Bachelor of Science in Finance, a BS in Information Technology and a Masters in Business Administration. He works as a Software Developer for a large healthcare corporation.

Swimming and the Fidalgo Pool has long been an important part of his family life as well. His son Logan competed with TAC and AHS. His Eagle Project was outfitting the upstairs lobby with benches, a magnetic board, and photos. His wife Mary is also an avid swimmer.

Jeff’s coaching style varies with the swimmer. Some masters participants come to learn, others are seasoned swimmers that come for the camaraderie. Others may vary by the day. He uses video recording to show swimmers where they can improve. He prepares a work out for each session with an emphasis on group swimming and sprints on Saturday.
